Middle of Nowhere Modeling

Last weekend, I had the opportunity to spend some time on a farm with an incredible family out in the middle of nowhere in Missouri! I had no Internet, no cell phone service, nothing – and it was beautiful!

Megan & I even got lost for 1.5 hours on nothing but red dirt roads – one farm after the next. I absolutely love the countryside, the people, the music, & everything it represents. We headed out there for the Skyline Picnic. They had live bluegrass music playing, a cakewalk, and this huge watermelon:

Close to the farm was this old dirt road going up a hill & as soon as I saw it I knew we had to shoot there. Lately, I’ve gotten back into shooting with just natural light which I’ve always loved to do. I’ve heard it said before that if you want to become a great photographer, first learn how to create appealing images using only available light. Additionally, I thought this was the perfect setting for black & white images. Megan did a fantastic job as usual:
