What To Expect
Photography sessions usually don’t happen in your every day life. For some, it may only ever happen once or twice in a lifetime. When it does happen, I believe it should be a fun, crazy, & memorable experience. Why not create something your future great, great grandchildren will look at & absolutely love?
All of my clients should come ready to laugh & hang out. You shouldn’t feel unnatural, posed, or stuffy. I might give you a little direction, but I don’t restrict what you do naturally. So if you don’t enjoy a laid-back, easy-going, stress-free environment, I’m probably not the guy for the job; my theory is that life is too short to not be friends with your photographer!
Sessions last up to 2 hours or less if we achieved what we set out to do. This mostly depends on what you envision for the shoot, where we shoot, & what you want when it’s all said & done. My role is to capture the very essence of what represents you & the things you hold near to your heart.
I specialize in anything from fashion portraits to commercial portfolio development to family photo sessions for intermediate families (parents + kids).
*I do not offer packages for weddings, event photography, large groups, or for extended family members.
Investment
After the shoot, instead of print packages, I offer high resolution digital images, individually or entire collections, both including a printing release. I’ll provide information on how & where to print your photos when you get your collection. My Thoughts on Digital Collections vs. Print Packages
For years, I sold photography packages through a point system that allowed the client to customize how many prints to order & what sizes to order them in. I loved this idea because it put more freedom into the hands of the clients & did not restrict them to print sizes that I had predetermined.
However, I noticed how clients would completely discard images they loved, never to be seen again, because I only offered prints of fully retouched images.
It takes a great deal of time in the post-production “Digital Darkroom” retouching each image until it has that airbrushed magazine feel. But over the years, I realized that some clients would rather have the digital proofs of the images they loved than buying a fully retouched print of that image. The cost for every image a client loved was considerably high when some clients would be thrilled with just a digital file that has had a basic edit. I now offer a choice between buying collections of proofs, basic edits, & fully retouched images.
With a Digital Collection of your images, you can keep them forever! 5 years from now, you can print out a photo you maybe overlooked the first time.
Portraits vs. Portfolio Development
What do you need? The main difference between the two really lies within what your photos will be used for in the end. Do you need photos for professional reasons, like for your business, website, modeling, or acting? Then a Portfolio Development Session is what type of package you’ll need.
If you want photos of yourself, your family, or your significant other, you’ll need a Portrait Session.
Session Locations
At Your House
Sessions at your place might surprise you with how beautiful they turn out. Going in the backyard, shooting in a bedroom with big windows, in the foyer, or even on your couch, you can get photos that represent who you are & what makes you feel comfortable & right at home. There’s nothing like capturing you in your own environment.

Parks & Fields
My favorite places to shoot usually end up out in nature somewhere. You can find so much beauty in just an empty field. We can go to the most beautiful parks in the area too. There are endless possibilities when you work outside.

The Streets
Sometimes it’s great to get an urban feel. We can hit the main streets in the area & get some really great city shots. It’s always nice to get something a little edgy for your shoot. Please note that I only shoot in safe areas – no exceptions.
The Studio
For individuals building a portfolio only, I offer an “in-studio” option. This is always done on a solid background & is meant for more of a commercial fashion approach to photography. I don’t recommend this option for anyone who is not building a portfolio. For portraits, I always recommend shooting in a natural environment.
*I will travel up to 25 miles in any direction of Collinsville, IL without additional expenses. Contact me for additional details.
