Happiness Throws a Shower of Sparks

I saw this image online somewhere & wanted to share it with you.

I’ve heard the following quote credited to both Albert Einstein & Rita Mae Brown, but no matter who said it first, it appears in probably 75% of every leadership book I’ve read.

“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results.”

I’d like to take this concept just a little further. Galatians 5:22-23 says, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” For those who belong to God, everything about their lives should reflect those characteristics.

So ask yourself, “Am I patient, kind, gentle, faithful?” If you’re not or if you think that your closest friend would say that you need improvement in any of those areas & you want those characteristics to represent who you are, then something must change.

We seek pleasure in so many areas of our lives hoping that it will give us the feeling of happiness. Chasing entertainment & pleasure is not the source of happiness. I truly believe that along the journey of becoming closer to what Galatians 5 describes, living a life full of light, you’ll realize that happiness finds you.

I leave you with some lyrics from the song “Happiness” by The Fray which you should download immediately:

“Happiness is like the old man told me
Look for it, but you’ll never find it all
But let it go, live your life and leave it
Then one day, wake up and she’ll be home”
