I stumbled across a very interesting find related to the origins of The United States of America concerning the Founding Fathers.  Apparently, a prerequisite for citizenship in Maryland in 1794 was a declaration of belief in the Christian Religion. The following document is signed by U.S Supreme Court Justice Samuel Chase who also signed the Declaration of Independence.
