My Whole Life

“My whole life somehow revolves around what we’re celebrating today in some way or another. Every ounce of hope, anything in me that even closely resembles something good, the mercy for everything bad about me, and the love I find spilling out of my heart has its roots in the Christ being raised to everlasting life from death. I believe with my whole heart.” Kyle Weber 4-24-2011 ...

God’s Grace & Lemonade

God’s Grace & Lemonade

A couple days ago, I made a little status update on my Facebook Page of just some things that I had been reflecting on in my own personal life. After a few private messages, reposts, & responses to my update, I felt like maybe I should share what I had written on this website as well. I have no idea if this will encourage or comfort anyone else, but maybe someone else needs to hear it as much as I felt like I needed to write it. God bless you guys! Sometimes I get so preoccupied with all of this lemonade I try to make from life’s lemons. I often grown weary from it, yet I have so much to thank God...

20 Ways to Spread Christmas Cheer

20 Ways to Spread Christmas Cheer

We’ve all heard it said that “it’s the little things that count.” We could give so much more of ourselves just by adding little blessings to someone else’s life. There are countless ways that we can spread some Christmas love. Have you ever had an idea for a random act of kindness? Here are 20 ideas I came up with to spread Christmas cheer. Read through the list & take note of which ones you’d like to do. 1.) Buy a piece of organic chocolate for your sweetest friend. 2.) Message your childhood best friend to remind them of a fond memory that you both share together, e.g., “Remember that time when I accidentally...

Christmas Time Is Here

Christmastime is easily most everyones’ favorite holiday! The lights, the tree, the music, the food, the family, the remembrance & celebration of Christ’s birth bring us all together for wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. Aside from the cold weather, I’d have to say that Christmas possibly tops the list for me as well. However, I also love Easter, Thanksgiving, & The 4th of July for what those celebrations mean in my life! Mainly, anything that celebrates FREEDOM, whether it be spiritual, political, financial, or any other kind of freedom within a moral nature, is a holiday well worth celebrating to me! I have a wonderful friend...

Happiness Throws a Shower of Sparks

Happiness Throws a Shower of Sparks

I saw this image online somewhere & wanted to share it with you. I’ve heard the following quote credited to both Albert Einstein & Rita Mae Brown, but no matter who said it first, it appears in probably 75% of every leadership book I’ve read. “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results.” I’d like to take this concept just a little further. Galatians 5:22-23 says, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” For those who belong to God, everything about their lives...

How Big Is Your Heart?

One of the many amazing things about God’s love is that when you allow it change you, your heart somehow begins to stretch just enough to fit everyone in it. So let me ask you this question: “how big is your heart?” Today, I’m praying that God stretches my heart & yours so much in love that every hurting soul & broken heart will know the depth of God’s love & be changed.

MLK Day of Service

A bunch of us from Render, the college/careers ministry I direct, met at 7:45am & booked it out to World Impact in St. Louis.  I absolutely love World Impact for the work that they do in the inner city of St. Louis. My friend Katherine always does a fantastic job pulling everyone together to make a difference. Last I heard, she was responsible for getting around 60 volunteers for MLK Day of Service, but I’m sure it was probably more. From the World Impact building, we took off for Turner Middle School in St. Louis & teamed up with United Way & Americorps. They were expecting around 75-100 volunteers in total, but ended up with well over 150...

Teaching Photography at Greenville College

Posted by on Sep 1, 2009 | 1 comment

The irony of life amazes me sometimes. I had a conversation with my mom around 2 weeks ago about possibly teaching a photography class somewhere & within a couple of days, I got a Twitter message about just that from one of the coolest professors you’ll ever meet. In fact, he really played a huge part in my final decision to attend Greenville College. So, to make a long story short, I now teach a college photography class; it started on Monday; I’m excited & thankful for the opportunity. I know I referred to all of this as irony, but truly, without a doubt, I believe God has orchestrated this. His continual grace never ceases to leave me awestruck....

Students’ Bill of Rights

As I was reading through my church’s bulletin this week, I found this on the back of it. I thought I’d share this with you as the school year approaches. The following piece is copyrighted by J.W. Brinkley & Roever Communications: The Right to meet with other religious students. The Equal Access Act allows students the freedom to meet on campus for the purpose of discussing religious issues. The Right to identify your religious beliefs through signs and symbols. Students are free to express their beliefs through signs and symbols. (Including Christian t-shirts, etc.) The Right to talk about your religious beliefs on campus. Freedom of speech is a...

The Eulogy of Kyle Weber

Posted by on Sep 3, 2008 | 1 comment

I recently gave a talk entitled “Begin With the End in Mind.” The title comes from Chapter 2 in a book called “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.” In this talk, I spoke of the importance of setting goals of not just where you want to end up at the end of your life, but who you want to become in the process. I decided there was no better way for me to get my point across than to write my own eulogy. (**Note: Yes, there will be a Zoolander reference or two) The next few paragraphs will contain my eulogy. I debated putting up something so personal, but if this even inspires one person to set goals on who they want to grow into in life’s...
